This 10 to 12 hour course is comprised of video lectures from Mayo Clinic leaders, readings, and example use cases that provide healthcare leaders with the knowledge needed to drive innovation in their organizations. This course focuses on the cardinal concepts within digital health, best practices for implementation, and foundational concepts and strategies for evaluating digital readiness and adopting digital technologies to improve the staff and patient experience.
Summary
In this course, faculty from Mayo Clinic's three shields—education, research, and practice—review foundational terminology and concepts, provide examples of use cases, and engage in critical questions that impart important concepts and diverse perspectives around innovation and digital healthcare technologies. By engaging in this self-paced online course, participants develop a broad, foundational understanding of organizational digital readiness, healthcare innovation, and transformation from internationally recognized Mayo Clinic faculty.
Upon successful completion of the program, learners earn a certificate of completion.

Daniel Cabrera, M.D.Dr. Daniel Cabrera is the Director for the Mayo Clinic Harper Family Foundation Artificial Intelligence Education in Medicine Program as well as former Associate Dean for Continuous Professional Development and an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He has a developed technology innovations including automatic resource allocation systems, artificial intelligence algorithms for management optimization, network analysis of knowledge management and distributed testing. He is the current director of the Emergency Medicine Platform for Knowledge Solutions which is an idea incubator focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, digital health, and knowledge creation. |

Lisa R. Hardesty, Ph.D., L.P.Lisa Hardesty, PhD, ABPP, PCC joined Mayo Clinic in 1998 and is an Assistant Professor and Consultant in Psychiatry and Psychology. She also is an executive coach certified nationally at the PCC level and works with leaders across the Enterprise and Mayo Clinic Health System. Dr. Hardesty previously worked in the Center for Digital Health and now focuses primarily on driving performance for leaders and teams through individual, dyad and triad coaching, and didactic experiences. |
